Foundation Programme -
Diploma in Business & Economics

This programme is designed for undergraduates wishing to take a Business, Social Science or Humanities degree. The course is validated by Roehampton University and these universities also welcome applications from successful candidates: Queen Mary, Nottingham Trent University, University of Liverpool, University of East Anglia, Kingston University, Essex University, City University, University of Westminster, Middlesex University and Buckingham University.

Course Modules:

  • Academic English and Study Skills: listening skills for lectures, note-taking, reading and writing skills, researching and presenting data; using a university library
  • IELTS Preparation: strategies to maximise your examination score
  • Business Studies: business vocabulary, types of business organisation; strategic and business planning; marketing, finance, planning, operations and human resources
  • Economics: markets, how they work and why they fail; managing the economy and economic development
  • Information Technology: databases, spreadsheets, word processing and presentations, using the Internet

Fast Track Foundation Programme
An IELTS score of 5.0 is needed for our 26-week Fast-track Foundation Programme starting in January. You join the foundation programme described above, taking separate lessons to bring you up-to-date with subject knowledge and language areas.

Pre-Masters Programme
This programme is designed for postgraduates who need to improve their level of English and their ability to study in English before starting a postgraduate degree. The programme consists of General and Academic English and preparation for IELTS. In addition students have a One-to-One tutorial programme with one session of 50 minutes every 2 weeks. This consists of a task based programme of research work and assignments in the students' chosen subject, with feedback and help from your tutor. We can offer a wide range of subjects including Art and Design, Law, Tourism and Hospitality, Media and Film Studies, Business, Economics, Marketing, Education and many others.
