What kind of exam is it?

This exam tests your ability to communicate at an advanced level with a practical emphasis. The exam tests your reading, writing, listening and speaking skills.

This exam is accepted by employers world-wide and increasingly by universities. Tests skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking.

There are 5 papers, taken on three separate days; papers 1-3 are taken on the same day:
Paper 1: Reading comprehension (1 hour 15 min.)
Paper 2: Writing (2 hours)
Paper 3: English in Use (1 hour 30min.)
Paper 4: Listening comprehension (45 min.)
Paper 5: Interview (15 min. approx)

Frances King offers special Cambridge Examination Courses to prepare students for this exam. You can also use practice tests in the study centre. There is also an exam forum where experienced exam teachers give advice and students can ask questions. This is generally held about 2 weeks before the exam; your teacher will notify you.
